The League of American Bicyclists has released a four-minute video that gives an overview of the national Safe Routes to School program.

To see the video, visit this page on the League’s website.

The clip was created through a grant and is designed to offer a “succinct, attractive and non-technical promotional piece” that explains what the new Safe Routes program is all about.

It includes interviews with parents, planners, kids, and even a call to action from Minnesota Congressman Jim Oberstar, the senior Democrat on the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and a passionate supporter of the program. He implores viewers to get involved and says,

“We need you to be a champion in your community. All you have to do is ask.”
